Márton-Ákos, Kostyák - Double bass

Márton was born in Miercurea Ciuc, and began his musical studies in his hometown with piano, then continued his majoring in cello in Cluj-Napoca, where he finished his high school studies at Sigismund Toduţă High School of Music with a degree in double bass.
He graduated from the Gh. Dima Academy of Music in July 2006 and was admitted to the Hochschule für Musik in Basel in May 2007, where he obtained a masters degree with honours in 2009. Since December 2003, he is member of the Târgu Mureş State Philharmonic Orchestra, and has gained orchestral experience in several Transylvanian and foreign orchestras, including the Csík Chamber Orchestra, the Szeklerland Philharmonic, the Collegium Musicum Basel, and the Aargauer Symphony Orchester.
In addition to orchestral playing, chamber music and education also play an important role in his activities. He is a regular performer of the "Tiberius Week" chamber music festival organized by the Tiberius String Quartet in Târgu Mureş. Márton is a double bass teacher at the Târgu Mureş Art High School and his folk music band "Üver" was formed in 2009, and since then there have been many concerts and dance houses behind them in country and abroad. As a regular contributor to the Miklós Tompa Society of the Târgu Mureş National Theater, Márton also plays operetta, theater and related genres.
